«CÉSAR RITZ» COLLEGES, Switzerland are international leaders in hospitality education, offering a variety of challenging programs at different levels in beautiful locations in Switzerland, the USA and Australia. The transfer possibilities between the Colleges form an attractive aspect of this educational approach, providing the student with the opportunity to experience integrated study and work on different continents.
A pioneer in combining the Swiss professional tradition with American management methods, the organization adheres to this international educational concept in all programs. Other pioneer steps of the organization include the launching of the 'University Transfer Program' (in l985) in co-operation with Washington State University, leading to a Bachelor Degree. This co-operation was extended to other universities during the following years.
In 1989, the Institut Hotelier 'Cesar Ritz' was the first Swiss hotel school with an American accreditation, and the International College of Hospitality Management 'Cesar Ritz' in Washington, Connecticut, which opened in l992, is the first Swiss Hotel School in the USA.
With the opening of the International College of Hospitality Administration in Brig, (ICHA), the first joint Bachelor Degree program in co-operation with an US university (University of Massachusetts) was introduced in Switzerland. Since summer 1999 the International College of Hospitality Administration is officially named University Center «César Ritz».
The UCCR is a unique educational partnership between HOTELCONSULT 'Cesar Ritz' Colleges and Washington State University, Pullman, WA, USA. Both institutions have control over their programs to insure quality in the academic curriculum of this unique study program, which combines the fine European art of hotellerie with the American science of hospitality management.
It consists of two components: a Swiss Higher Diploma in Hotel Management and a Bachelor's degree in Hotel Restaurant and Administration. The WSU's Hotel & Restaurant Administration Program is part of the College of Business and Economics and is fully accredited by the prestigious American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business. This combination of a business-based curriculum and the finest Swiss hospitality skills prepares students to meet the expectations of leading hospitality organizations worldwide.
In order to assist graduates with the first step into the profession, the International College of Hospitality Management 'Cesar Ritz' in Connecticut campus hosts a 'career day' twice a year offering students interviews with international hotel corporations.
Due to the success of the career fairs & the growing interest the hospitality industry shows in «CÉSAR RITZ» COLLEGES graduates, this service is now extended to it' s alumni and organized twice a year at different locations in the United States.
The alumni network functions worldwide and provides valuable contacts. The 'César Ritz' Network Society provides a network service for 'César Ritz' graduates, enabling members to contact each other with a view to extending recruitment, job, and social opportunities.
Alumni reunions take place: March in Berlin, May in Le Bouveret / in Brig, once in London and March and September in the United States of America in.
