THE DEGREE THAT WORKS...it's the age -old dilemma: how do you impress an employer without experience, and how do you get experience if you're not employed? From co-operative education to volunteer internships, Windsor has the answer.
Co-operation education bridges the gap between traditional education and career goals by combining career-related, paid work experience with academic studies. Students spend some semesters in class and others in their placements. Typically, co-op combines four years of academic study with three or four 16 week placements. Co-op work is available year-round. International placements tend to be longer – six to 16 months – due to cultural adjustments.
What sets Windsor’s co-operative education programs apart from the rest? Integrated learning, skill development, small program size, work experience, classroom learning and professional development workshops and activities are integrated into the co-op experience to ensure that students develop the transferable skills employers expect.
During study semesters, co-op students participate in a wide variety of skill development workshops on relevant topics such as resume writing, interview skills, networking skills, salary negotiation – developing skills that will help them make a successful transition to the world of work. click here for more info.
